Situation, a digital-first agency building passionate communities for live experience-based clients like WICKED on Broadway and The Metropolitan Opera, seeks Account Director to lead the day-to-day marketing and advertising strategy for some of our high profile Broadway clients. This role will report to the Account Group Director, and will serve as the face of the agency to the clients they oversee and drive the strategic operation of our advertising campaigns, collaborate extensively with internal teams across social media, paid media and creative and be the shepherd of account health for the clients they oversee, including budget management and client communications. The selected candidate will demonstrate a strong aptitude for paid, owned and earned media, embody a leadership mindset and be a top notch collaborator while also being able to manage their time effectively and efficiently to drive top-in-class services for our clients.

What You’ll Do

The Account Director is the face of the agency to the client and the face of the client to the agency. This role will be seen as the Account Lead on their portfolio of clients and will be responsible for leading and driving strong, bespoke and innovative strategies to help their clients succeed. This person will also work very closely with their counterparts across our social, media and creative teams to lead a diverse and talented group of experts in those departments. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the client, including budget management and will be a pivotal asset to driving financial growth and new business. The Account Director will also be expected to nurture strong relationships with our clients and with others in the industry and develop new relationships that could ultimately help lead to new business or partnerships. The Account Director will also be included in agency leadership meetings and will be expected to champion and embody Situation’s core values of innovation, collaboration and commitment.

Our office is located in midtown Manhattan and we are currently working in-office three days per week.

Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day campaigns, alongside an account coordinator, of several high profile Broadway and National Tour clients.
  • Prepare and run client and internal meetings – including presenting creative campaigns, media ideas and data to clients.
  • Execute and develop strong strategic campaigns across paid, owned and earned placements in collaboration with internal and external teams.
  • Communicate on a very regular basis with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as Producers, General and Company Managers and vendors, including other agency partners.
  • Manage the budget for clients they oversee – including pacing and making sure budgets are spent in full and we are not overspending our budgets.
  • Identify opportunities for client growth and innovation.
  • Act as “marketing director” and identify clients needs; assertively push where a need is present and our services can provide a solution
  • Act with autonomy for most day-to-day decision making and managing of accounts. Know when decisions and issues need to be managed up for more senior level buy-in and support

Requirements

  • 6-8 years in an advertising role, with prior agency experience
  • Strong understanding of the Broadway and Live Entertainment landscape in New York and around the country
  • Masterful organization and budget maintenance skills
  • Digital advertising expertise and knowledge of programmatic platforms like The Trade Desk and paid social
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including crafting meeting decks that tell a strong narrative story
  • Ability to think 6 steps ahead and proactively plan and ideate for campaign optimizations or updates
  • Collaboration-first mindset with a strong ability to inspire team members to excel in their areas of expertise
  • Strong understanding of data and analytics and the tools used to aggregate them while also have the ability to synthesize and turn data into action points
  • Understanding of key social platforms and their impact on audience growth
  • Past experience managing junior team members, including working on developing their skills and professional capabilities

Situation, a digital-first agency building passionate communities for live experience-based clients like WICKED on Broadway, MJ the Musical and The Metropolitan Opera, seeks an Account Group Director to play a key role in developing and overseeing the marketing and advertising plans for our growing roster of Attractions, Sports and Live Event Clients. This role will report to the Managing Partner and will be responsible for building the client relationship and facilitating communication and workflow within our internal team. The selected candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the advertising landscape, digital space and developing technologies.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll be expected to…

  • Be the strategic thought leader and oversee all aspects of marketing for our Attractions, Sports and Live Event clients
  • Ensure client satisfaction, client retention, and growth of services and revenue
  • Carve out time to meet new people (networking, conferences), and nurture new relationships to secure new opportunities
  • Have a strong understanding of traditional advertising, digital advertising and analytics
  • Develop financial reporting and projections, as well as maintain client budgets in collaboration with our internal team
  • Work in concert with the internal team to develop a strategic marketing plan for our clients that provides win-win solutions for the client and the agency and then oversee the execution of that plan
  • Collaborate with the Media Planner/Director and Creative Director to bring marketing strategy and client perspective to the table
  • Work in collaboration with Media, Search, and Creative teams to ensure messaging, targeting, and reporting are in lock step with campaign objectives and client needs
  • Bring problem-solving ideas and capabilities to the team
  • Provide forward-thinking awareness and actions in collaboration to ensure that the team is anticipating client/campaign needs
  • Act as main point of contact for client concerns, questions, and general updates
  • Present at in-person and virtual client meetings and attend client events as needed
  • Work with Project Manager to ensure production jobs are proceeding according to plan
  • Oversee the hiring process for all roles that will report into you in the future
  • Manage, nurture and develop all future roles that report to you

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant marketing, agency, and/or digital experience
  • Experience working for/with large Entertainment brands
  • Superior attention to detail and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with colleagues and clients
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Positive attitude and collaborative mindset

Situation seeks a Creative Director to lead the creative strategy and campaign development for select clients across the arts, entertainment, and live event space. This role will report to the VP, Creative and collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues across marketing, creative, and social teams to deliver innovative work. The selected candidate will have a history of idea-driven, results-oriented, and innovative multimedia campaign work.

What You’ll Do

The Creative Director serves as the creative lead for their set of clients, brainstorming and concepting idea-driven campaign executions that ensure we’re bringing our clients’ stories to life across a multi-media landscape. The right candidate is a seasoned creative leader with unmatched creative curiosity who knows how to take an insight, turn it into an idea, and map out executions that meet our clients’ business goals. The right candidate is a passionate storyteller, natural collaborator, and knows creating great ideas in a team sport.

As a leader at the agency, this role is eligible for the following: managing direct reports as the team continues to grow, participating in the new business process, and contributing to process improvement and development to strengthen team workflow.

Our office is located in midtown Manhattan and we are currently working in-office three days per week.

Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Drive the creative strategy for macro and micro planning deliverables–advertising messaging, content, virtual events, brand activations and promotions, influencer, etc.–that meet client objectives
  • Develop high-level concepts for creative projects on a recurring and ad-hoc basis, balancing responsible ideation, proven effectiveness, and innovative thinking
  • Develop a strong, authentic, and effective brand tone and voice for your clients; maintain that voice across all platforms and canvases
  • Brief fellow creative and social media team members with the “who, when, and why” to arrive at the best “what”
  • Quality control and review creative output once a project has moved from pitch to production
  • Provide on-set creative leadership and support for your client’s projects
  • Collaborate with Account and Project Management team to ensure pacing and growth of production work
  • Identify instincts-driven and insights-backed opportunities to improve creative impact and shift creative strategies
  • Uphold creative standards through a working knowledge of strong copywriting and editing skills, design principles, etc.
  • Pitch and present with passion and purpose; clearly and confidently communicate recommendations internally and externally

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience at creative agency, studio, or in-house marketing team in a creative role
  • Excellent ability in a creative field (content, copy, design, video, social, etc.), advanced skills using the tools of that trade, and a passion for storytelling in multiple formats, mediums, etc.
  • A working knowledge of the other creative disciplines outside of your primary craft in order to be a strong collaborator and effective creative leader
  • Strong perspective for what makes creative marketing efforts stand out and perform in a crowded marketplace
  • Dynamic and confident presentation skills to pitch ideas clearly and effectively
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve efficiently, intelligently and with positivity
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced creative environment with a keen eye for detail and calmness under pressure
  • A passion for live events, entertainment, and/or the arts; working experience in these industries, agency or client-side, is a plus but not required
  • A portfolio of your work in lead and hands-on roles (please include when applying)
