Job Responsibilities:

• Must be able to handle and play a double bass convincingly as if it’s too large for them.

• Required to improvise chaotic, disjointed notes and phrases to create an abstract and experimental sound.

• Should emulate the feeling of stammering with a speech impediment through their musical performance.

Requirements:

• Must be petite in stature, with an appearance that suggests the double bass is ‘too big’.

• Open to male or female musicians.

• Must have a valid, up-to-date passport as the shooting will occur in Paris.

• Available for a one-day shoot in Paris, scheduled for early to mid-February 2024.

• Comfortable with improvisational playing and able to produce staccato and disjointed musical sounds.

Casting Call: Dynamic Dancers for Avant-Garde Art House Film

Job Description: We are searching for highly skilled dancers who specialize in isolation, contortion, and physical theatre to participate in an innovative art house film. The project will be a 12-minute audiovisual presentation designed to evoke and interlace feelings of tension, unease, relief, and ecstasy, creating a space of confrontation with the viewer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interpret and execute movements that embody isolation and contortion with an element of physical theatre.
• Perform complex, chaotic, contained, random, robotic movements with a sense of tension.
• Contribute to the project’s objective of exploring body language, music, and vocal expression.
• Collaborate with the director and production team to bring authentic and human elements to the film.

Requirements:

• Professional dance background with strong skills in styles such as Krump, Butoh, Bone Break, or in the vein of Pina Bausch.
• Ability to convey a narrative through disjointed movement along with powerful dance skills.
• Must be available for a one-day shoot in Paris in early to mid-February 2024.
• Must have a valid, up-to-date passport.
