As a General Manager (GM) for the Family Entertainment Center, you will provide overall leadership, supervision and direction on strategic initiatives and operating standards to drive business results. You will do this while helping to achieve the vision of offering exceptional guest experiences that cannot be replicated at home and enticing people to come back.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all activities of the FEC with a focus on leadership and operational efficiency.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the FEC’s operations including Gaming/Entertainment offerings, Restaurant/F&B, and Theatre elements.
  • Analyze financials and develop action plans to grow revenue and control expenses to meet or exceed annual budgets for specific departments.
  • Create and manage an annual budget to meet targeted financial performance.
  • Continuously improves operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to Cinemark’s operating standards and philosophies.
  • Consistently meet the standard for the guest experience.

Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Minimum of five years of hospitality/entertainment experience
  • Minimum of two years of hospitality/entertainment experience in a leadership role
  • Proven track record in management of COGS and labor
  • Experience managing budgets and working with a P&L
  • Be detail oriented with the capability to oversee all aspects of the business and multiple areas simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • TABC Certification

Physical and Environmental Requirement

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking and reaching
  • Ability to carry, push, and pull objects
  • Noise level may be moderate to high at times
  • Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time

The Director of Finance – Food and Beverage (F&B) will lead Cinemark’s Domestic F&B Operational Finance support organization. This is a high impact operational and commercially focused finance role, reporting directly to the SVP of Operational Finance. The Director of Finance – F&B has the demonstrated ability to deliver results, lead via influence, partner cross-functionally, drive consensus and build high-performing teams. This individual is data-centric with the ability to leverage data and analysis to help the organization achieve its strategic and operational goals.

The position will act as a strategic and collaborative business partner with the Executives of Cinemark’s Domestic F&B Department. The F&B department provides leadership over all F&B sales, new product development and new revenue initiatives, and is one of two key revenue and profit centers for the Domestic company. The position provides critical financial thought partnership as well as provides all financial and operational reporting, planning, forecasting, budgeting and analysis for revenues, expenses, profit margin and capex for the Executive leadership and operating personnel of Cinemark’s F&B Department. The position will also provide analysis and reporting of the F&B business to the CEO, CFO, Investor Relations (IR) and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) departments.Responsibilities:

  • Ownership over the delivery of the Domestic F&B financial results, partnering closely with F&B business leaders to drive achievement of the budget and advance our strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver thought partnership and value-added analytical support to the EVP and VP of F&B: drive action through analysis, recommendation and execution.
  • Bring a strategic mindset towards discovering opportunities and identifying new areas of growth or efficiency for F&B and merchandising.
  • Interpret and summarize complex data to help achieve strategic and operational goals.
  • Attract, develop, and retain strong finance talent.
  • Streamline finance processes. Stand up repeatable and scalable solutions which enable controllership while shifting the balance of the team’s time towards value added support.
  • Advance business intelligence and ad hoc reporting development to support the Theatre Operations Team.
  • Provide support to IR in the preparation of quarterly earnings, Q&A and messaging.
  • Types of analysis, financial models and critical thought leadership would cover areas such as:
  • Margin and cannibalization analysis
  • Product level trends
  • Testing of new concepts and items, and impact on existing products
  • Theatre, geographic and demographic market performance
  • Cost of goods analysis
  • Net profitability analysis including impact on labor costs
  • ROI on new initiatives
  • Pricing recommendations
  • Create accurate budgeting and forecasts concession revenues and cost of goods, and capex, along with tracking of actuals versus budget.
  • Oversight of capex requests in the Food and Beverage area, including proforma models and post mortem analysis.
  • Coach, lead, develop and motivate direct reports.
  • Provide continuous and timely communication to leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience, including broad financial partnering and leadership for operational teams in a dynamic organization.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited and recognized institution of higher learning is required with an advanced degree (MBA, equivalent) preferred.
  • Proven analytical skills with a hands-on and detail-oriented nature; able to accomplish deep-dive analytics both individually and in collaboration with the team.
  • Solid leadership skills with an ability to lead, influence, develop and motivate a team.
  • Curious, independent and proactive thinker with demonstrated record of approaching management with original and creative views on how to improve the business using data driven analysis.
  • Advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills .
  • Clear verbal/written communication and presentation skills with an ability to influence and build positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to cope in a fast, dynamic environment and manage a wide range of tasks simultaneously.
  • Track record of leading simplification and process improvement projects.
  • Collaborative, team player.
  • High degree of personal and professional integrity.
  • Multi-outlet brick & mortar retail and/or entertainment industry experience a plus.
  • Essbase, SQL, OLAP, Power BI or multi-dimensional database experience a plus.
  • Experience in database maintenance, design or queries a plus.

Reporting to the SVP, Investor Relations, the Director Investor Relations will be a key member of a small, collaborative, and dynamic team. The position offers high visibility internally and externally with direct exposure to executive leadership, in particular the CEO and CFO. This role will be integral in preparation for earnings calls and investor meetings, as well as helping develop the IR program’s vision and strategy and ensure successful execution of the comprehensive IR plan.

A Day in the Life of a Director – Investor Relations:

  • Build relationships with the investment community, communicate the organizations strategies and financials and target potential investors with the intent of having the organization’s shares accurately valued in the market
  • Partner with the Executive team to develop the investor targeting strategy through research, prioritization and building a pipeline of new investors.
  • Develop and share capital markets updates and insights, including valuation trends, investor perspectives, and communication best practices
  • Synthesize investor feedback, sentiment, and questions for the benefit of the company’s senior leadership team, helping frame potential responses and/or disclosures
  • Provide business, financial and market intelligence to the senior leadership team, identifying industry trends, shareholder concerns and competitor actions that might impact the company
  • Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis, SEC Reporting, SVP Investor Relations, CFO & CEO, and various other key players as needed, to develop and communicate key messaging regarding financials and strategy
  • Prepare for quarterly earnings calls, including architecting strategic messaging, drafting initial script, anticipating analyst questions and developing proposed responses
  • Organize investor conferences and meetings, including preparing schedule, coordinating logistics, and developing commentary and presentations
  • Monitor peer/competitor/industry-related earnings calls, presentations, and media commentary; compare financial performance/positioning relative to peers, relay highlights to senior management and assess Cinemark messaging opportunities
  • Monitor analyst communications and track financial models against company projections and notify SVP Investor Relations of any significant deviations
  • Ensure compliance with SEC requirements, Reg FD in particular
  • Track, analyze, and report on investor base/shareholder changes
  • Target potential investors with investment styles that align with Cinemark profile
  • Maintain investor database with meetings/calls conducted

What You Will Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area, such as Finance or Accounting. A Master’s degree is not necessary but is considered an asset.
  • 7+ years of finance, accounting, and/or investor relations experience with outstanding financial and analytical skills, as well as ability to understand and explain complex subject matter.
  • Buy-side/sell-side/consulting/agency experience a plus. Experience in retail and/or entertainment industries also a plus.
  • Solid comprehension of financial reports/metrics and financial data/analytic tools; demonstrated ability to learn new concepts quickly and complete multiple/diverse assignments with high levels of quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation-making and ability to write quickly and persuasively under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships while working across various departments and levels of management, including senior executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
