Based in San Mateo, California, this role will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive predictable business growth by delivering visibility and improving efficiency across the revenue process
  • Responsible for developing business strategies and operational plans to achieve company objectives
  • Be adept at approaching opportunities and challenges from multiple angles by coming up with creative business plans to be successfully realized in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide company-wide departments with a strategic view of SVOD, AVOD, and TVOD businesses and shared revenue targets to drive achievement of business objectives.
  • Connect market data and revenue activity data to propel data-driven collaboration, execution rigor, and operational agility across organizations
  • Share both process goals and revenue goals, conduct and lead periodical business reviews with company leadership to ensure a well-defined performance-to-plan analysis, and continue to adjust processes to meet and exceed the goals of revenue opportunities
  • Identify and establish partnership opportunities that generate business revenue and growth. Develop and manage partner relationships to ensure targets are met and exceeded
  • Work closely with leadership and support to build revenue strategy. Keep leadership apprised of the revenue operations progress

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Over 9 years of previous experience in consumer internet companies in a business operations, corporate strategy, go-to-market monetization strategy, or a similar role, with 4+ years in a leadership and management role
  • A desire to do both strategic planning and daily execution/optimization
  • Expertise in evaluating opportunities in a competitive environment with actionable, insightful market assessment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply business strategy to data analysis and recommendations
  • Demonstrated history of identifying opportunities with strategic partners, building and managing relationships with them. Experience in selling one’s ideas, negotiating, closing, and growing commercial partnerships
  • Ability to plan a project and effectively manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing short term revenue objectives with long term vision
  • Proven leader with the ability to bring many parties and perspectives together, to forge a vision, and to drive towards common goals
  • Strong problem-solving skills, comfortable with navigating ambiguity with limited information and making tradeoff decisions
  • Team management experience with strength in developing team members to achieve individual and company objectives

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base salary for this role will be between $180k-230k. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.

We are in search of a Product Marketing Manager based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He/She/They will be part of a dynamic, creative, innovative and impactful team that is responsible for driving brand awareness, growth, engagement and retention for Viki and our global audience.

This role will be based in San Mateo, CA and report to Director, Brand & Product Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help shape, design and implement the strategy, messaging and positioning for the Viki service in key markets and regions
  • Partner with strategy & biz ops team to define GTM marketing strategy for key business initiatives & priorities including (bot not limited to) subscription plan offerings, feature launches and building out our publishing business
  • Define and continue to iterate Viki’s most important customer needs and opportunities, staying attuned to the competitive landscape, market trends and white space opportunities.
  • Work closely with marketing channel owners and PMs to drive GTM plans and measure impact post-launch
  • Effectively communicate and advocate our consumer needs and voice internally and externally
  • Drive continued awareness, adoption and engagement of our product and features
  • Build a customer journey map to deepen our understanding of our users and their experience across the Viki journey to create an overall better experience and increase engagement/retention

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business, Data Analytics, Advertising or equivalent business experience in marketing preferred
  • 2+ years of product marketing work experience
  • Experience with data-driven user segmentation principles and conducting experiments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate insights and data into a compelling and meaningful story
  • A champion at cross functional collaboration, having worked across teams and functions and has had success in influencing projects
  • A passionate self-starter who can serve as a strong advocate for our customers and our business
  • Strong project management skills
  • Able to adapt to a dynamic and fast paced work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and passion for Asian entertainment (K-pop, J-pop, Korean dramas etc.)
  • Streaming industry knowledge
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base salary for this role will be between $78,624 – $125,216. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. Reporting to the Director of Brand & Product Marketing, the Senior Manager, Creative & Content role will be based in the SF Bay Area and will lead the entire creative services team and play a key role in bringing to life brand and integrated marketing campaigns. He/She/They will help to bring to life our brand vision through innovation in static and video execution as well as content creation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Help define Rakuten Viki’s creative strategy across product and marketing touchpoints in static and video formats
  • Develop and oversee video content production that resonates with existing and prospect audiences, creating viral and user generating content, particularly in social for organic and paid
  • Develop brand awareness content in conjunction with broader marketing team to inspire, excite and delight users and strengthen our brand appeal
  • Mentor, coach, lead and inspire a team of graphic designers and video editors to develop best-in-class, on-brand marketing communication
  • Use data, insights and past creative performance to drive recommendations and decision making in the creative process
  • Invoke a culture of innovation and set a high bar for the team to exceed creative standards
  • Lead and manage all creative team workflows and operations
  • Uphold and maintain Viki’s brand guidelines across all creatives

Who You Are:

  • Experience in content creation and art direction, specifically in video is a must
  • Ability translate business level OKRs and a brand story into producing high-level art direction/inspiration/strategy that can be adapted in a multi-channel environment
  • 6+ years of creative experience in omni-channel
  • 3+ years experience in digital marketing
  • 4+ years of people management experience
  • Strong understanding of different channels (with focus on social) and what kind of creative works in which formats
  • In-depth knowledge of design, typography, photography, layout principles, and production process
  • Strong copywriting skills and able to translate concepts into copywriting direction for team of copywriters
  • Fluent understanding of current digital trends and social landscape
  • Solid organizational skills, detail-oriented. Capable of working on multiple projects concurrently in a very fast-paced environment, ensuring that quality deliverables are achieved on time
  • The drive to excel and succeed; self-motivated, managing projects effectively
  • Ability to work with teams across different time zones (e.g. SG/KR) on as needed basis
  • Solid mix of both a team lead as well as individual contributor willing to roll your sleeves up as needed
