Proper Hospitality is seeking a dynamic, service-driven Regional Director of Entertainment Sales to join our team and oversee sales initiatives for two luxury hotels within our portfolio, with additional responsibility for the production sales segment.

The Regional Director of Entertainment Sales will be responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales and marketing initiatives targeting the entertainment industry, including film, television, music and production segments. This role will focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, maximizing sales opportunities and ensuring exceptional service delivery to our entertainment and production clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to increase market share within the entertainment and production segments
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging industry contacts and market intelligence
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adapt sales strategies accordingly

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the entertainment industry, including studios, production companies, talent agencies and event planners
  • Act as the primary point of contact for entertainment and production clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded
  • Coordinate and conduct site visits, presentations and negotiations with potential clients

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with hotel general managers, revenue managers, and marketing teams to align sales strategies with overall business goals

Revenue Management & Reporting

  • Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts and performance metrics to achieve revenue targets
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior management
  • Implement effective sales tracking systems and processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting

Event and Production Oversight

  • Oversee the production sales segment, ensuring seamless coordination of events, film shoots, and other production-related activities
  • Collaborate with hotel operations teams to ensure the highest standards of service delivery for entertainment and production clients
  • Address and resolve any issues or challenges related to production sales and events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales, with a focus on the entertainment and production industries
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a luxury hospitality environment
  • Strong network of contacts within the entertainment industry
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events

The Culver Hotel is seeking a People & Culture Manager to join the team at our 46-room reimagined boutique luxury property located in the heart of Downtown Culver City.

A seamless merger of artful design and European ambiance, The Culver Hotel features three dining options for a curated experience, one-of-a-kind eclectic interiors ensuring that no two rooms are exactly alike, an in-house art gallery and 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

As the People & Culture Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our reputation for excellence by overseeing all aspects of human resources operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our hotel’s goals and values, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment for our team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and industry best practices
  • Manage onboarding processes to ensure a seamless transition for new hires
  • Coordinate employee training and development programs to enhance skills and promote career growth
  • Oversee performance management systems, including conducting regular evaluations and providing constructive feedback to team members
  • Handle employee relations issues with sensitivity and professionalism, fostering a supportive and collaborative work culture
  • Administer benefits programs and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Manage payroll processing and maintain accurate records of employee compensation and benefits
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in employment laws to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Collaborate with department heads to address staffing needs and optimize workforce productivity
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience working as an HR manager or similar role in the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel setting
  • Strong understanding of local labor laws and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and resolve conflicts effectively
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a track record of successfully managing HR initiatives
  • Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience processing payroll and managing benefits programs
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus

Santa Monica Proper Hotel is seeking a dynamic, motivated Event Sales Manager to join our Sales team. 

A seamless merger of historic retrofit and new construction, our property features interior design by international style icon Kelly Wearstler, multiple dining options by local area culinary stars, a rooftop lounge and swimming pool, and 24,000 square feet of meeting and event space. 

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for generating revenues within the markets assigned for restaurant and event space catering sales as well as meeting or exceeding established quarterly revenue and solicitation goals. This key role will constantly work with the hotel and restaurant/culinary management teams to create compelling menus, brainstorm maximization of event space, coordinate timing of events and relay all necessary information and changes to maximize event profitability and ensure that our clients receive a second-to-none experience. Due to the nature of the catering and event business, after hours/weekends may be required depending on client needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Account prospecting, solicitation and development via telephone, personal contact, outside calls, correspondence, email and other means of communication
  • Pre-event coordination with Operations teams and collaboration in servicing events as needed
  • Conduct event and meeting space site inspections, entertain both in house and off property, and maintain relationships through follow up methods
  • Proactively establish preferred partnerships with outside vendors to create benchmark standards, consistency in service and competitive pricing
  • Prepare and present proposals and contracts, both written and verbal, in a prompt, accurate, profitable, pleasant and professional manner
  • Develop and work from a quarterly action plan that encompasses account management, new business development and departmental profitability
  • Represent properties at trade shows, civic/business functions, industry-related associations, and other relevant events as needed and directed
  • Complete other relevant tasks as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Event Sales

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Sales/Events as well as experience in Food & Beverage Operations
  • Excellent selling and negotiating skills with strong market and account knowledge
  • Creative and innovative, as well as proactive and customer-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, event management software and customer management platform
