Casting Call: Background Actors for Netflix Feature Film (KP)

We are currently seeking background actors for an upcoming Netflix feature film, tentatively titled “KP.” This project will be filmed in Brooklyn, NY, and includes both interior and exterior scenes. We are specifically looking for a diverse group of individuals, including a special role for a pregnant woman.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in various background scenes according to the director’s instructions.
• Be available and on time for wardrobe fittings and shooting days.
• Follow direction from the crew to ensure scenes are captured as required.
• Maintain professionalism on set at all times.
• Be prepared for long shooting days and possible schedule changes.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older to apply.
• Must be able to work as a local hire in Brooklyn, NY.
• For the Pregnant Woman Role: We are specifically looking for a visibly pregnant woman to participate in a key background scene. Please indicate your due date when applying.
• No experience necessary, but must be reliable and able to follow directions well.
• SAG-AFTRA members and Non-Union individuals are welcome to apply.
• Must be available for all listed shooting dates.

Compensation Details:

• SAG-AFTRA Members: $208 for 8 hours (with overtime as per SAG-AFTRA agreement).
• Non-Union: $176 for 10 hours (with overtime for hours worked beyond the initial 10).
• Meals and snacks will be provided on set.

Casting Call: Netflix Feature Film (KP) – “Singh Family” Role

Job Responsibilities

• Portray members of the “Singh Family” in a realistic and natural manner, as per director’s guidance.

• Participate in background scenes requiring a South Asian family setting.

• Be punctual and available for full-day shooting schedules as determined.

• Follow directions from the film crew and director to ensure scenes are captured as required.

• Attend costume fittings, makeup sessions, and any pre-shooting meetings as required by the production team.

Requirements

• South Asian family types, with children aged 6 and above. Parental participation is optional but preferred.

• No acting experience is necessary.

• Open to both SAG-AFTRA members and non-members. Non-members may be provided with waiver opportunities.

• Must be available for full-day commitments on shooting days.

• Must be comfortable with non-speaking, background roles.

• Ability to follow direction and work well under the dynamic conditions of a film set.

• Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate filming hours and locations as determined.

Compensation Details

• SAG-AFTRA Members: $208 for an 8-hour day per actor/family member cast.

• Non-Union Members: Eligible for waiver opportunities. Compensation is the same as for union members.

• These are non-negotiable rates.

• Compensation includes full participation in the day’s shoot, regardless of the number of hours worked up to 8 hours.
