CBS Sketch Comedy Showcase is now looking for aspiring writers.

Do you love to make people laugh? Is writing your passion? CBS is now accepting submissions for the company’s annual Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase, a nationwide program to find breakout writers for their network’s comedy pilots and current TV series. As part of the company’s commitment to diversity, this showcase is focused on African American, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Latino and Native American actors with extensive sketch comedy experience. Moreover, actors with disabilities and LGBT actors of any ethnicity are also encouraged to submit. Recognized by many as the industry leader in actor showcases designed to highlight diverse talent, the CBS Diversity Institute Talent Showcases are attended by senior level CBS Entertainment executives, showrunners and casting directors from series on CBS as well as other networks and high level talent agents. The primary focus of The CBS Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase is to provide exposure, access and opportunities for talented and motivated diverse writers and performers. Aspiring diverse writers with a strong desire to WRITE for the CBS showcase are encouraged to apply. You must be 21 or older to be eligible. You must be 21 or older to be eligible. SUBMISSION PERIOD IS NOW OPEN.  All completed application materials must be received between May 8 – July 10, 2017. Any submissions received before May 8th or after July 10, 2017 will not be considered. No hand delivered submissions will be accepted. Finalists will be notified in early September 2017 (or such later date as may be determined by CBS).
THE WRITERS’ APPLICATION  PERIOD IS NOW OPEN   Application Materials PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY!  Each submission must be complete in order to be considered. A complete application includes: Application Form Letter of Interest (one page in length, typewritten and double spaced) Work Resume or Bio Two (2) Original Sketch Comedy Writing Samples (each no more than four pages in length) An electronically signed Submission Release form for the writing samples. Please submit all documentation in PDF form. Duplicate submissions will not be accepted and deleted without notice. Contact information must include an e-mail address for further communication from CBS. Applications cannot be processed until they are complete. Writing samples will not be returned.
