Katherine Heigl Apologizes for Bashing ‘Knocked Up’

Date:

Katherine Heigl is sorry for bashing ‘Knocked Up’.

Things were pretty bad between the former Knocked Up co-stars, Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen, and I don’t think it will get better anytime soon.

Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen worked together 10 years ago in the box office hit movie Knocked Up, but drama between the co-star lives on.

Earlier this week Heigl was a guest on Howard Stern’s radio show, where she revealed her biggest regret about the movie and how she believes their relationship will never be the same.

Following the release of Knocked Up, Heigl trashed the very successful film to Vanity Fair, saying it was sexist. In the interview Heigl said:

“It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you’re portraying women? Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie.”

Ouch. Director/writer Apatow and Rogen bashed her for the comments and insinuated to the fact they would never work with her again. Rogen later offered an apology, saying that as celebrities you say things on accident, and that he was over it.

Heigl told Stern that she is very sorry for the comments and that she was referring to herself and how she played the character, instead of bashing the movie.

“I liked the movie a lot. I just didn’t like [my character]. She was so judgmental and kind of uptight and controlling and all these things. Judd allows everyone to be very free and improvise, and afterwards, I was like, why is that where I went with this? What an asshole she is!”

She even said that she thought about writing an apology to Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen, but she was too embarrassed about the whole situation to say sorry. Heigl later said she would love to work with the Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow again, but it’s unlikely they would give her the chance:

“I would love to. I don’t think [Seth] would with me, though. I think he’s really mad at me.”

Heigl’s comments on the movie were definitely strange, and I can see why Rogen and Judd Apatow were upset with her. But, it remains to be seen if Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen will actually accept her apology.

Do you think Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow should forgive Heigl for trashing Knocked Up?
