Georgia Film Academy is now accepting applications for students.
According to reports, the Georgia Film Academy has officially started production! On December 7th, the Georgia Film Academy announced they will begin enrolling students for their spring 2016 semester.
The pilot certification program created by Georgia Film Academy features two semester long courses. “The first is more classroom based, though it includes hands-on experience with industry standard equipment, and during the second course students will spend a semester on-set of actual film and television productions.”
The Georgia Film Academy offers a two-course certification program specifically designed to provide students with a basic level of on-set film production skills, knowledge and experience with film-industry standard organizational structure, professional equipment and on-set procedures. Our courses offer you extensive hands-on experience.
Students will have an opportunity to network, build resumes and learn to market themselves in order to become integrated into the film industry as entry-level workers.
THE GFA Program will not only give you professional training in the film production crafts but an opportunity to earn credits towards your AA, AAS or BA degree!
But, it is important to point out that the courses are not free. The total costs for the Georgia Film Academy is $2,250. “The first course costs $750, and the second costs $1,500.” But, the Georgia Film Academy is reducing the cost of the program in half by subsidizing the cost.
Courses will be taught at Clayton State University, Columbus State University and Gwinnett Technical College with plans to expand to several other locations across Georgia.
Classes are currently available to current students attending Technical and University Colleges in Georgia as well as non-students.
Gov. Nathan Deal announced his plans to establish the Georgia Film Academy to help support the growing demand of Georgia's growing film industry. Now, the Georgia's Governor plans to support Georgia's growing film industry are becoming a reality as the Film Academy will be located at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia.
