Tom Hardy responds to that awkward sexuality question.
Earlier this week, Tom Hardy dismissed a reporter who brought up the subject of Tom Hardy’s sexuality to a TIFF press conference. Tom Hardy, who was at the time promoting his new thriller Legend, was upset to see the subject switch so quickly from the content of his movie to Hollywood’s affixation with sexuality. The journalist attempted to bring up an old interview where Tom Hardy alluded to sleeping with men in order to increase in acting skills. Tom Hardy called this question irrelevant, and dismissed the reporter.
Now that a few days have passed, Tom hardy spoke with EW about why he shut down the reporter’s off-topic question. Hardy expressed that the question was an invasion of his privacy during the press conference and should have never been asked.
“That really, really annoyed me. It was just the inelegance of being asked in a room full of people. Now I’m happy to have a conversation, a discussion, at a reasonable time about anything. I’m confident in my own sexuality, and I’m also confident in my own being and talking about any issue you want to talk about it. But there is a time and a place for that.”
That is a pretty reasonable request for such a heavy loaded question.
