After starring in four different James Bond movies, Daniel Craig is ready to graduate on to bigger and better things.
In an interview with Esquire the actor said he didn’t know whetehr he would film another 007 movie after Spectre, due out November 6. But if he were to make a decision right now, he would quit the franchise forever.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I really don’t know. Honestly. I’m not trying to be coy. At the moment I can’t even conceive it.”
When asked specifically if he would do just one more Bond film, he replied: “At this moment, no. I have a life and I’ve got to get on with it a bit. But we’ll see.”
The profile hit the Internet the same day another piece of Bond news went viral. Current 007 writer, Anthony Horowitz said in a recent interview with the Daily Mailthat The Wire’s Idris Elba, the most requested actor to replace Daniel Craig, is “too street” and not smooth enough to play James Bond. Needless to say the Internet was pissed.
I’m really sorry my comments about Idris Elba have caused offence [full statement attached] pic.twitter.com/UD6ouA45Uv

Is “street” the UK’s version of “urban” in terms of coded racism? Idris Elba is a lot of things, but “street” ain’t one of ’em.

Beyond that, it is pretty obvious this guy just wants Bond to be white. Which, you know, fine. Just own it though.
