Is The Bachelor Fake? Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray Break Up

Date:

Love is dead. ‘Bachelorette’ Andi Dorfman and Fiance Josh Murray break off their engagement.

After being engaged for five months, the surprising news comes after the couple attended the season 19 ‘Bachelor’ premiere together on Monday.

“After several months of being engaged and working on our relationship, we have decided that it’s best for both of us to go our separate ways. We are very sad that it has come to this point, but this is what’s best for both of us individually,” Dorfman and Murray confirmed through their rep.

Host Chris Harrison interviewed the couple on Monday and asked when the wedding would take place. Dorfman turned to Murray and he said, “We’re looking forward to just settling down and just relaxing and having some fun with each other,” Dorfman was still wearing her engagement ring at the time.

“I feel like once you start planning though, there’s no stopping, so I’ve got to really be ready to plan,” Dorfman told Harrison on the red carpet.

With the recent breakup, it begs the question, is The Bachelor real? According to the Daily Beast, there is a lot of things that go on behind the scenes. For instance, ex-contestant Leslie Hughes revealed that all contestants must undergo a STD Test, the cameras never stop rolling, you cannot have contact with the outside world, it’s not very glamorous, and not everyone on the show is there to find love.

“I believe in the process, and if you’re there for the right reasons, it could totally work,” Hughes said of the probability of falling in love on the show. “I feel like you can fall in love anywhere.” But some of the women on the show might have ulterior motives for taking part in The Bachelor. “I don’t think everyone was attracted to Sean,” she said. “I know a few had been in relationships and they broke up at the time of the show, so… there’s all kinds of motives.” And what might those reasons be? “To get in front of America,” Hughes said. She also commented on the competitive nature of the show, suggesting some women want to see what could come their way after being seen on The Bachelor. “But you can’t compete for love,” Hughes argued. “Either someone is into you or they’re not.” [via]
