Date:

Showtime has renewed their Sunday Night Dramas. Homeland Season 5 and The Affair Season 2 will be returning in 2015.

Homeland is currently Showtime’s hit original TV series, despite failing to win several Emmys in the past few seasons. Homeland is an American political thriller television series developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa based on the Israeli series Hatufim, which was created by Gideon Raff. Homeland centers around Carrie Mathison a CIA director who has to balance a mental disorder while trying to find the terrorists that plan on destroying America. “In its fourth season, Homeland has brilliantly reinvented itself,” said Showtime Networks president David Nevins. Homeland features Claire Danes, and Mandy Patinkin.

“It continues to capture the attention of a devoted fan base, and has provided an enviable platform for the successful launch of The Affair. With thought-provoking, relevant and addictive storylines, both series have been embraced, dissected and much debated week after week. We’re excited to see more from these complex shows in 2015.”
