Showtime’s “Homeland” Leaves North Carolina to Film in South Africa

Date:

The hit series on Showtime, “Homeland” is moving from Charlotte, North Carolina to Cape Town, South Africa.

Homeland is heading to South Africa for a fourth season. The drama announced this Friday that the Claire Danes drama will begin production in South Africa starting mid-June and will shoot through November for the new season.

Season 4 will center on Carrie Mathison, as she is assigned to one of the most dangerous CIA stations in the Middle East where she is back on the frontlines on the war on terror.

“We’ve been so lucky to work with one of the best crews in the business for the last three seasons in Charlotte,” said Homeland showrunner and executive producer Alex Gansa. “We knew going into season four that we would need to move the production overseas to tell the story of Carrie returning to the Middle East as chief of station. We are thrilled to have found a new home in Cape Town and look forward to getting season four production off the ground.”

The extras casting director for “Homeland” Tona B. Dahlquist also commented on the Homeland series leaving Charlotte, North Carolina.

Now that it has been officially announced that Homeland will not be returning to Charlotte this Season, we can comment. We are very thankful to have had the opportunity to work 3 Seasons with such an amazing cast & crew. We will miss them all very much. We are wishing them the best for the upcoming Season. I am sure it will be a wonderful one.
We currently have Banshee (which begins filming next week) as well as a couple other projects in the works. So stay tuned. You guys know I have bills to pay and my daughter’ wedding to pay for this year. lol. I will be working! If I am working, you guys will always have shows to submit to and work for.
