‘Wolf of Wall Street’ Former Employee Sues Paramount for Defamation

Date:

For anyone that worked for Stratton Oakmont, they were probably horrified.

But one former broker is extremely upset about the ‘Wolf of Wall Street’. Andrew Greene is angry about his onscreen depiction of Nicky ‘Rugrat’ Koskoff, who is played by P.J. Byrne. “Rugrat” which refers to Greene’s hairpiece, placed him as the butt of several jokes. He is currently has a $25 million defamation lawsuit and injunction against Paramount. He is particularly upset that his character is shown engaging in crazy activities including drug use and prostitution.

According to TheWrap, the complaint states, “In multiple scenes in the movie, ‘Rugrat’s’ use of a toupee is accentuated and mocked in an egregiously offensive manner… The motion picture introduces ‘Rugrat’ by referencing his ‘piece of sh*t hairpiece.’ In another scene, investigators ask whether his hair is real. Characters are also seen attempting to grab the toupee in a scene.” Additionally, “The motion picture contains various scenes wherein Mr. Greene’s character is portrayed as a criminal, drug user, degenerate, depraved, and/or devoid of any morality or ethics.”

Even though Greene was never “interviewed, questioned, charged, imprisoned, or even arrested for the illicit and despicable behavior shown in the motion picture,” he was okay with Jordan Belfort’s account of what went on in his book but, instead is rather upset that Paramount, actually depicted those actions on the big screen.
