Russel Simmons and John Singleton Join to Create a New HBO Production ‘Club Life: Miami’

John Singleton and are hitting the with HBO in a new .

From the director of ‘', John Singleton and hip-hop mogul Russel Simons are teaming up with the premium to develop the drama “ : Miami” with John Singleton writing and producing the project.

Set against the South Beach, Fla., club , the drama follows a reformed criminal who moves to Miami and gains a new lease on life as he embraces the vibrant, youthful and transgressive world.

Simmons is also executive producing an untitled drama in development at HBO with “12 Years a Slave” director Steve McQueen. That project, which McQueen will executive produce, co-write and direct, will explore a young man's experience entering high society — with a past that may not be what it seems.
