Grey’s Anatomy centers on the lives of surgical interns and residents in a fictional Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital, as they become distinguished physicians, with the help of their mentors. Every episode typically follows with the voice over narrative from Meredith, foreshadowing the theme of the episode. Each season represents the physician’s year in residency. Currently, the series has showed eight seasons, and was originated with Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Mark Gordon, Krista Vernoff and Allan Heinberg. The series was created to be racially diverse, utilizing a color blind casting technique, or non-traditional casting ( practice of casting a role without considering the actor’s ethnicity).
