Emmys 2023: Nominees Revealed

The nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards have been unveiled, with several notable shows receiving multiple nominations. Succession, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, and Ted Lasso are among the top contenders.

The list of nominated actors includes Pedro Pascal for The Last of Us, Jeremy Strong for Succession, Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary, and Jenny Ortega for Wednesday.

However, there were also some surprising snubs. Harrison Ford missed out on nominations for Shrinking and 1923, while Elizabeth Olsen was not nominated for Love & Death. Selena Gomez and Steve Martin were not recognized for their roles in Only Murders in the Building, and Sarah Goldberg missed out on a nomination for Barry. The Saturday Night Live cast received no acting nominations, and shows like Yellowstone and Snowfall were overlooked. On the other hand, Welcome to Chippendales and Jury Duty received unexpected recognition, earning five and four nominations, respectively.

The nominations were announced during a virtual ceremony on Wednesday by Yvette Nicole Brown and TV Academy chair Frank Scherma.

To be eligible for this year’s awards, TV shows aired between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023.

The 75th annual Emmys are scheduled to air live from the Peacock Theater (formerly the Microsoft Theater) on Monday, September 18, from 5-8 p.m. PT/8-11 p.m. ET on Fox. The Creative Arts ceremonies are set for September 9-10. The host for the Fox ceremony has yet to be revealed. However, delays are possible if the ongoing writers’ and potential actors’ strikes are unresolved during the summer. SAG-AFTRA is currently negotiating contracts with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
