Acclaimed ‘Stranger Things‘ actor Caleb McLaughlin has been cast to bring the life of LeBron James to the big screen in ‘Shooting Stars, an upcoming biopic about the iconic basketball star.
Caleb McLaughlin of the acclaimed Netflix series Stranger Things has been cast as a lead in the upcoming Peacock biopic on LeBron James.
McLaughlin is set to bring the character of Dru Joyce III, James’ closest confidant and son of his high school basketball coach in Akron, to live with her upcoming film titled Shooting Stars. James had often articulated his deep connection with his high school buddies and how their camaraderie stayed true even when they lost in a national tournament. However, at the end of high school, they won an invigorating title together, leaving lasting memories! Although details surrounding the biopic are still largely unknown, it has been rumored that this film will document James’ formative years of basketball and illustrate how his high school career shaped him into an iconic NBA player.
McLaughlin is a highly sought-after actor in Hollywood, having been cast for the lead role in Lee Daniels’ upcoming Netflix thriller Demon House and as part of an all-star powerhouse team alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and James McAvoy for Jeymes Samuel’s The Book of Clarence.
