“SWINGS” NYU Student Film Open Casting Call

“Swings” NYU student short film open casting call filming in Nutley, New Jersey.

Do you want to be part of a new project? Look no further! NYU Grad Student Short Film, “Swings,” is now casting for two significant roles.

The film follows the story of Tess, a rebellious teenager harboring resentment for her dad, who made her move to a new place. And Tom, her single father, tries his best to relate to her as she undergoes the throes of being a teenager in a new place.

If you fit either of these roles, please note that this production requires 100% fully vaccinated actors and crew unless there is a qualifying medical or religious exemption. Production dates are from 3/31 – 4/2, with the location being Nutley, NJ.

Meals and transportation will be provided, and footage will be used on actor reels. Self-tapes will be required if selected to audition. 1-2 rehearsals will be required before shooting and scheduled around the actor’s availability.

Location: Nutley, NJ

Casting for:

TESS: Female, 14-16, Asian

A rebellious teenager harboring resentment for her dad, who made her move to a new place.

(Seeking SAG-AFTRA Union actors and Non-Union)

TOM: Male, 40-50, Asian

On the outside, Tom is a stern, masculine man hardened by his childhood as an immigrant to the US. But, he harbors a soft spot for his daughter, Tess, and tries his best to relate to her as she undergoes the throes of being a teenager in a new place.

STORYLINE:

A rebellious teen, Tess, tries to come to terms with moving to a new city, stirring her relationship with her single father.

OTHER NOTES:

This is an NYU Graduate Film project. 1-2 rehearsals will be required before shooting and scheduled around the actor’s availability. Meals and transportation will be provided, and footage will be used on actor reels. Self-tapes will be required if selected to audition.
