Netflix casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in Australia. Producers are now casting the following roles:

Must fit briefs below:
- Blue/grey eyes, light brown curly hair. Must be shorter than 145cm (-small 1 years )
- Blue eyes, dark blonde straight/wavy hair (9-11 years).
Applicants must be based in Brisbane/Gold Coast and be atleast 8 years old
The series will be screened on a major streaming service.
Filming from early October 2022.

The cast of ‘The Boy Swallows the Universe’ has been announced, with filming beginning on a series adaptation for Netflix.
Boy Swallows Universe, Trent Dalton’s iconic Australian novel, is being adapted by Australia’s Brouhaha Entertainment and Chapter One with Anonymous Content. Production has begun in Brisbane, Australia.
The eight-part limited series will screen on Netflix internationally and star Travis Fimmel (Vikings, Warcraft, Raised by Wolves, Black Snow) as Lyle Orlik and Simon Baker(The Mentalist, Breath) as Robert Bell. Phoebe Tonkin(Babylon, TransfusionWestworld) will play Frances Bell., Felix Cameron(Penguin Bloom) appearing as Eli Bell), and Lee Tiger Halley’s Gus Bell.

Other characters central to the lives of Eli and Gus are played by Bryan Brown(Cocktail, Breaker Morant, Two Hands, and Palm Beach) as Slim Halliday, Anthony LaPaglia (Nitram, Florida Man, Without a Trace) as Tytus Broz, and Sophie Wilde (You Don’t Know Me, The Fuck It Bucket, The Portable Door, Tom Jones)in the role of Caitlyn Spies.
Other cast members include Christopher Baker (True Detective, Ozark, New Gold Mountain) as Ivan Kroll, HaiHa Le (Hungry Ghost, Back to the Rafters, Hardball) as Bich Dang, Deborah Mailman (Total Control, Mystery Road, Offspring) as Poppy Birkbeck and Ben O’Toole (Hacksaw Ridge, Detroit, Bloody Hell, The Water Diviner) as Teddy. Millie Donaldson and Eloise Rothfield will play 17-year- old Shelley Huffman and 13-year-old Shelley Huffman, respectively.
The novels are adapted for television by John Collee, the same writer of Master and Commander, Happy Feet, and Hotel Mumbai (adjusted).
Executive Producers include Troy Lum (The Water Diviner, Saving Mr. Banks, Mao’s Last Dancer) and Andrew Mason (The Matrix, The Water Diviner). On behalf of Brouhaha, Sophie Gardiner (Howards End, Little Women, Chimerica) for Chapter One, Anonymous Content’s Kerry Kohansky-Roberts (Foe Boy Erased), Joel Edgerton (The Gift, Boy Erased The King), and Toby Bentley (Best Interests Kiri ), and Bharat Nalluri (Shantaram ).
The directors of this project are Bharat Nalluri, Jocelyn Moorhouse, and Kim Mordaunt. Shelly Farthing-Dawe worked as the Director of Photography, with Michelle McGahey as production designer. Kerry Thompson was in charge of costumes, Angela Conte did hair and makeup design, and Nikki Barrett was the casting director.
The Queensland Government funds the Boy Swallows Universe project through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy.
