HBO Excites Fans with the Announcement of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’ Prequel Series to the Smash Hit Show, ‘Game of Thrones’!
Get ready to witness the next thrilling chapter of Game of Thrones, as HBO has just confirmed that a prequel is officially in production! This much-anticipated story will focus on Aegon I Targaryen and was first reported earlier this month.
Since the first publicized statement, additional information about Warner Bros. Discovery’s MAX platform has been revealed during media interviews. George R.R. Martin’s next prequel is an adaptation of the Dunk and Eggs stories, which chronicles the epic adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and his young friend Aegon V Targaryen (Egg). Taking place ninety years before A Song of Ice and Fire, the series is now titled: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.
According to the official synopsis, “A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros…a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.” As Writer and Executive Producer, Marting will be at the helm of this project set in Westeros. Although a release date is yet to be announced by HBO, we look forward to seeing what he brings to the table with his expertise.
