Godfather of Harlem starring Forest Whitaker is now casting rioters in New York City
Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on Tuesday, October 23rd in New York City.
Producers are seeking the following types:
- GWCI is seeking NonUnion to play African American male and female rioters (ages 18-40s) in 1963 Harlem for new Epix series GODFATHER OF HARLEM, starring Forest Whitaker.
About Godfather of Harlem:
Forest Whitaker will star in the EPIX series Godfather of Harlem. According to Variety, “The series is titled “Godfather of Harlem.” It will tell the true story of crime boss Bumpy Johnson (Whitaker), who in the early 1960s returned after 10 years in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles. With the streets controlled by the Italian mob, Bumpy takes on the Genovese crime family to regain control. During the brutal battle, he forms an alliance with radical preacher Malcolm X, catching his political rise in the crosshairs of social upheaval and a mob war that threatens to tear the city apart.”

Godfather of Harlem Casting Call
GWCI is seeking NonUnion to play African American male and female rioters (ages 18-40s) in 1963 Harlem for new Epix series GODFATHER OF HARLEM, starring Forest Whitaker. Must be ok with active background work on your feet for night shoots on Friday, 10/19, Monday 10/22, and possibly Tuesday, 10/23. Must be available for costume fitting tomorrow 10/17 (or 10/18).
Please note:
-no visible tattoos
-must be ok working around atmospheric smoke
-must have 1963 appropriate hair (WOMEN – about shoulder length or shorter, no ombre, extensions, braids, etc.) or okay with period hair cut by hair department
-no modern looking fake nails – natural-looking nails only
