The creator of ‘Spartacus’, Steven S. DeKinght will be the new show runner on Marvel-Netflix’s “Daredevil”
Steven S. DeKnight will replace Drew Goddard as the show runner on Netflix’s upcoming Marvel series, “Daredevil.”
Marvel announced on Saturday that, Drew Goddard, who wrote the first two episodes of the series, will stay as the executive producer while he works on the upcoming “The Amazing Spider-man” spinoff film, “The Sinister Six.”
DeKnight is known for creating “Spartacus” franchise for Starz, also helped produce projects such as “Smallville,” “Angel” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
The upcoming “Daredevil” movie centers on Matt Murdock, a blind superhero. Filming is set to start in July 2014 and all episodes will be available for streaming at the same time.
The Walt Disney Co. and Netflix have joined together for an original live-action series based on several Marvel characters including Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones. The partnership will also include a miniseries of the team called the “Defenders”.
