Introduction
Project Casting serves as a bridge, connecting a diverse pool of talent with unique opportunities in the entertainment industry. In this feature, we highlight a variety of roles including acting positions for an upcoming vigil scene in a film production.
Details of the Casting Call/Job Opportunity
We are excited to announce casting opportunities for the film “The Hunting Wives.” This film requires extras to fill the roles of town attendees in a pivotal vigil scene. The genre of the project is a dramatic thriller, and it is being produced by Tona B. Dahlquist Casting. The scene will be shot in Charlotte, NC, and the specific shooting dates will be communicated to selected participants.
About Starz ‘Hunting Wives’:
Starz has greenlit an eight-episode series order for the thriller drama “The Hunting Wives.” Based on May Cobb’s novel, the project will see Cobb executive producing alongside “Hightown” creator Rebecca Cutter, who has penned the adaptation and will also serve as showrunner. Erwin Stoff of 3 Arts Entertainment joins as another executive producer. Lionsgate Television will produce in collaboration with 3 Arts.
This new series marks Starz’s first series order following the conclusion of the writers’ strike. Recently, the network made headlines by cancelling second-season series “Heels,” “Run The World,” and “Blindspotting,” and also decided against continuing with “The Venery of Samantha Bird,” which had its production halted in May due to the strike with two episodes remaining to be filmed. “The Hunting Wives” adds to Starz’s lineup of female-centric upcoming series, including “Three Women,” as the network continues to diversify its programming portfolio, traditionally dominated by successful franchises like “Power” and “Outlander.”
“The Hunting Wives” provides both Cutter and Stoff with additional projects at Starz. Cutter’s “Hightown” was renewed for a third season, while Stoff’s “The Serpent Queen” is set to return for a second season next year. Stoff, a 3 Arts co-founder known for producing major films like “The Matrix” and “Edge of Tomorrow,” has recently expanded his focus to include television, now executive producing five series. These include the two dramas at Starz, HBO Max’s comedy “Julia” returning next month for a second season, the upcoming Netflix animated series “Blue Eye Samurai,” and the Fox drama “Doc.”
“The Hunting Wives” narrates the gripping tale of Sophie O’Neil, who relocates with her family from the East Coast to East Texas. There, she falls under the enchantment of local socialite Margo Banks. Soon, Sophie finds her life spiraling into a dark world of obsession, seduction, and murder.
