About ‘FBI: Most Wanted’
FBI: Most Wanted is an American crime drama television series created by René Balcer and produced by Wolf Entertainment. It was greenlit by CBS in May 2019 as the first spin-off of Dick Wolf’s drama FBI, with the characters having been introduced during the original show’s first season. The series made its debut on January 7, 2020.
Following its initial success, the show was renewed for a second season in May 2020, which premiered on November 17, 2020. Continuing its run, CBS announced a third season in March 2021, which began airing on September 21, 2021.
The momentum continued with the renewal for both a fourth and fifth season in May 2022. The fourth season kicked off on September 20, 2022. The fifth season, however, faced a delay from its original September 2023 premiere due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, eventually premiering on February 13, 2024. This season was shortened to just 13 episodes due to the same strikes. In April 2024, CBS confirmed the series would return for a sixth season.
FBI: Most Wanted Plot:
FBI: Most Wanted revolves around the FBI’s New York Fugitive Task Force, dedicated to tracking down and capturing the most notorious and elusive criminals featured on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. The team is led by FBI Supervisory Special Agent Jess LaCroix, a highly skilled profiler who excels at capturing dangerous felons. During the first season, the task force comprises Special Agents Sheryll Barnes, a former NYPD detective with a background in behavioral psychology; Kenny Crosby, a U.S. Army Military Intelligence veteran mentored by Jess; Hana Gibson, the team’s intelligence analyst; and Clinton Skye, Jess’s brother-in-law and a seasoned field agent who serves as the team’s sharpshooter. They operate from a base in Manhattan’s 26 Fed and a mobile command center that acts as their primary hub while on the road.
In the second season, Clinton Skye is assigned to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and his position is filled by Special Agent Ivan Ortiz, a former LAPD gang officer known for his street-smart approach. Ortiz steps in as the team’s sharpshooter. Season three sees Kenny Crosby going on medical leave after being injured during an investigation, and he eventually moves back to Oklahoma. He is replaced by Special Agent Kristin Gaines from the FBI’s Miami field office. The season takes a dramatic turn when Jess LaCroix is fatally shot by a fugitive, deeply affecting the team. He is succeeded by Supervisory Special Agent Remy Scott, who joins the team from the FBI’s Las Vegas field office. Later in the season, Ortiz takes a leave to care for his sick father in Los Angeles and eventually transfers there permanently. His replacement is Ray Cannon, a rookie agent and former NOPD detective from New Orleans.
By the time seasons four and five unfold, Kristin Gaines relocates to Denver to be closer to her children, and Special Agent Nina Chase from the New York Field Office steps in to fill her role on the team.
