AMC television series “TURN” is filming in the Central Virginia area and casting directors and producers are seeking actors for speaking roles.
Currently, Arvold Casting is seeking actors who look authentically from the Revolutionary War period for speaking roles.
If you don’t know, ‘TURN’ is based on the nonfiction book Washington’s Spies by Alexander Rose.
The story is centered on a band of young soldiers and civilians who were part of the secret spy ring during the Revolutionary War.
Talents that are selected to audition and are selected will work on episode 8 of the new AMC series.
Seeking the following speaking roles for episode 108:
CAPTAIN BLAKE: Late 20’s – 40’s, Caucasian. A British POW Officer who handles the trading of prisoners of war, an event that requires the strictest adherence to protocol at all times. Equestrian skills and British accent mandatory.
CAPTAIN HENRY: Late 20’s – 40’s, Caucasian. A patriot who is determined to please his leader, George Washington, and will not bend the rules no matter the situation, lest his neck end up in a noose. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations.
SINGING LIEUTENANT: 20’s – 30’s, Caucasian. Guest at a party, Sings the jaunty drinking song “Soldier, Soldier, Will You Marry Me?” The Lieutenant has been immersed in drunken debauchery all night and belts out the “male” part of the song in a boozy haze. British accent.
SINGING CAPTAIN: Late 20’s – 40’s, Caucasian. Guest at a party, Sings the jaunty drinking song “Soldier, Soldier, Will You Marry Me?” The Captain is two-sheets to the wind and belts out the “girl” part of the song in a boozy haze. British accent.
MERCHANT: 30’s – 60’s, Caucasian. Intervenes when he sees Abigail and Anna quarrelling in the market, concerned that Anna is being hassled by a woman he assumes is a slave. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations.
REDCOAT GUARD: 20’s – 40’s, Caucasian, Very much wants to do his job well in order to impress his superiors, he is persuaded to make an exception for an uninvited guest at the threat of displeasing his boss. British accent.
DRUNK REDCOAT OFFICER: 20’s – 50’s, Caucasian, Guest at a party, very intoxicated, plays a game called “Who Would You Kill?” with his fellow partygoers. British accent.
DANIEL WEIR: 30’s – 40’s, Caucasian. British quartermaster & Commissary General, fixated on acquiring more supplies and land for the British army by confiscating it from the colonists, willing to “adjust” certain procedures to pillage and plunder as he pleases. Authentic British accent mandatory.
