‘Dark Places’ Starring Charlize Theron Casting Call for Day-Players

Casting Directors are now casting day players for an upcoming SAG Feature Film starring Charlize Theron.

Vicky Boone, casting director for Parkland, Tree of Life, and Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, is currently casting day player roles for the SAG Feature film Dark Places, starring Charlize Theron. Auditions and shoot will be held in Shreveport, Louisiana. Production will run late August to early October 2013.

“In the film, Theron, who is co-producing through her Denver and Delilah Productions, plays Libby Day, a woman who 25 years ago testified against her brother as the killer of their family. Now a group called the Kill Club believes he is innocent and is out to prove it. Gilles Paquet-Brenner is writing and directing the adaptation of the 2009 book. Exclusive Media is fully financing and producing alongside Denver and Delilah (Deadline).”

VICKY BOONE CASTING – SAG Feature Film – DARK PLACES

Vicky Boone, casting director for Parkland, Tree of Life, and Ain’t Them Bodies
Saints, is currently casting day player roles for the SAG Feature film Dark
Places, starring Charlize Theron. Auditions and shoot will be held in
Shreveport, Louisiana. Production will run late August to early October 2013.

Auditions: August 5-7 in Shreveport, LA
You do not have to be SAG to submit for this project.

Please read the descriptions below carefully before submitting yourself.

-Frederick Baker Look-Alike – Male, 20s-40s, Caucasian – A live-action role
player who is dressed up as Frederick Baker, a murderer from 1860s England.
Tall and thin. A threatening elegance. Sneaky. Creepy. He greets guests arriving
at a convention.
-Bob Berdella – Male – 30-45 A live-action role player who is dressed up as
serial killer –Robert Berdella, “The Kansas City Butcher”. Actor should closely
resemble Bob Berdella. Probably a little over-weight and bulky.

-Warehouse Girl – Female – 18-22 – A stoner girl hanging out with her pothead
boyfriend at an abandoned warehouse, the hangout for the town’s misfits. Thin,
maybe Fairuza Balk-like.
-Guitarist – Male – 20-25 – Actor needs to be a really good guitarist with a
grungy, rock look.
-Homeless Man at Toxic Waste Dump – 50+, hard-living, homeless look.
-Marine – Male – 40-55, Grey hair. Big and burly. Imposing. White-haired man
with a US Marine tattoo.

This project is SAG Scale.

When you submit yourself, please send TWO recent photos of yourself (one
close-up of your face; one 3/4 or full body), and a resume, if you have one. If
you are submitting yourself for the guitarist, please send us a link to a sample
of your playing.
