Walt Disney provides some of the best resources for all aspiring talents that are interested in working in the entertainment industry specifically in the FIlm and theater department.

Disney boasts on the website that, their entertainment professionals all have a variety of talents and are part of the largest live entertainment ompany in the world, entertaining millions of guests. More importantly, their professional interns play an important part in the Walt Disney organization and they are responsible for desigining and implementing the creative parts of a variety of entertainment projects.

Suggested Majors: Stage Management, Event Management and Industrial Engineering.

Department Overview:
Creative Costuming is responsible for providing fully themed looks for our cast and Characters that help bring world-famous Disney stories to life and delight millions of guests who come through our Disney parks every year. Our teams design, build, buy and repair costumes for locations across the Parks and Resorts segment. Our costumes appear on cast members and Characters world-wide; in all of our theme parks, resorts, shops, restaurants, recreational venues, on cruise ships and even in behind-the-scenes areas our guests never see. For non-costumed cast members, our team manages our company’s long-respected Disney Look, a nod to our rich heritage and traditions.

Responsibilities

The Workroom role includes facilitating the creation, manufacturing, and maintenance of Entertainment costumes. Partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to ensure costume quality and design is consistently maintained. Interface daily with Costumers, Buyers, Designers and varying levels of management within the Costuming organization. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to draping, drafting, patterning, CAD/CAM process, costume construction, fittings, size charts and alterations.
