Gal Gadot, renowned for her portrayal of “Wonder Woman,” is currently immersed in the production of Disney’s live-action rendition of Snow White.
In a recent revelation to GQ, Gadot shared that she underwent an audition – a departure from her usual roles – for a significant reason.
She said, “For the first time in a while, I auditioned for a project. Given that this is a musical, the rationale was to ascertain my singing capabilities.”
Dedicating weeks to meticulous preparation, Gadot elaborated, “Over a month, I dedicated myself to mastering the song. Subsequently, I underwent the audition process. Following that, we filmed the musical segment. The culmination was my delight at securing the role.”
Apart from her discussion with GQ, Gadot engaged with various media outlets regarding the forthcoming film, slated for release in March 2024. During an interview with People, Gadot disclosed that her middle child initially hoped she would land the role of the titular character. Upon learning that Gadot was cast as the Evil Queen, her eldest child humorously remarked, “How fitting.”
In June 2021, Disney announced the selection of Rachel Zegler as the lead for the live-action Snow White. Director Mark Webb commented, “Rachel’s extraordinary vocal prowess marks just the tip of the iceberg of her talents. Her resilience, intellect, and positive outlook will play a pivotal role in revitalizing the charm of this timeless Disney fairy tale.” Zegler’s breakthrough performance occurred in Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” also in 2021.
Gal Gadot joined the film’s ensemble in November of the same year.
