HBO is now casting additional roles for the upcoming “Game of Thrones” prequel.
According to reports, the HBO is expanding the cast for the currently unnamed “Game of Thrones” series.
Recently, HBO recently announced the stars of the show with Naomi Watts and others making up the core cast; there have been casting calls for other characters since September.
According to Watchers on the Wall, the first two characters are code-named “L2” and “W2”. These are for two kid roles. They are looking for young, confident, black actors between the ages of 6 to 10 years old. While it is not specified, it appears they are looking to cast two young actors to play brothers.
The final casting call is code-named “F2”. Casting directors are looking for a young white woman to be played by an actress between 26 and 33 years old. HBO is reportedly looking for a “very strong actress,” which suggests a very lead role in the series.
There are no details about the characters in these casting calls. Nevertheless, reports suggest this prequel of Game of Thrones will be more diverse than the original series.
According to HBO, the prequel will take place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones. The cast includes Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Denise Gough (Monday), Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), Sheila Atim (Harlots), Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans), Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia films), Alex Sharp (How to Talk to Girls at Parties) and Toby Regbo (The Last Kingdom, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald).
Jane Goldman and Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin are the creators of this new series, with Goldman working as the show’s showrunner. Both will executive produce the series alongside, SJ Clarkson (The Defenders, Jessica Jones, HBO’s Succession and the upcoming Star Trek installment), who will also be directing the pilot episode; James Farrell; Jim Danger Gray; Vince Gerardis; Daniel Zelman and co-executive producer Chris Symes. Martin was also an executive producer on Game of Thrones and contributed to several episode scripts.
