About Netflix’s ‘Mea Culpa’:
Kelly Rowland and Trevante Rhodes have been chosen to join the star-studded cast of Tyler Perry’s latest Netflix film, “Mea Culpa.” This will be an exciting new venture for both actors as they take on their respective roles in this highly anticipated movie. Prepare yourselves – it’s sure to make waves with its unique storyline!
The unparalleled talent of multi-Grammy Award winner Kelly Rowland is featured in the highly-anticipated Netflix film Mea Culpa, produced by renowned director Tyler Perry.
Led by Rowland, the crew also includes Trevante Rhodes, RonReaco Lee, Nick Sagar, and Sean Sagar. Perry, the mastermind behind this new drama, shares a captivating story of an eager defense attorney who risks everything to be accepted into a prestigious law firm by taking on the case of an artist accused of possibly murdering his girlfriend.
Tyler Perry has worked together on several projects at Netflix, such as Six Triple Eight, A Fall From Grace, A Madea Homecoming, and A Jazzman’s Blues. Mea Culpa will be the fifth one to join that list. Additionally, in 2021 he appeared in Don’t Look Up, playing Jack Bremmer. He’s currently in production project – Six Triple Eight is about the only all-Black and all-female World War II Battalion, which features Kerry Washington, who also serves as executive producer.
As her burgeoning career continues to expand, Rowland is now teaming up with Perry. Her accomplishments as a solo artist and group member of Destiny’s Child have already earned her four Grammy Awards. Still, she doesn’t stop there – she has also gone on to appear in numerous films like Think Like A Man, Bad Hair, and The Curse of Bridge Hollow, as well as making several television appearances, including American Soul and Empire. In 2017, she achieved a long-desired milestone and became an author with the publication Whoa, Baby!: A Guide for New Moms Who Feel Overwhelmed and Freaked Out (and Wonder What the #*$& Just Happened). Last year saw another addition to her repertoire: Always With You, Always With Me – a children’s book.
As Mea Culpa’s official debut is yet to be announced, Angi Bones and Will Areu have been named producers for the upcoming Netflix venture in collaboration with Perry and Rowland.
