The Newsroom is a drama TV series created and written by Aaron Sorkin and is featured on HBO. The show follows the behind the scenes events of a fictional news channel. Aaron Sork, who created the Emmy Award winning political series, The West Wing, was working on this project since 2009. After several months of negotiating, HBO ordered a pilot in 2011, and then a series in September. The show is shot primarily in Los Angeles, California and is starring Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, and Thomas Sadoski. The show is filmed in Los Angeles, California and has recently be renewed for a second season.
