Fate brings them together, hoping to facilitate healing, but instead, both men find themselves locked in a dangerous game of psychological warfare, attempting to goad each other into “suicide.” Matt and Trotter embark on a transformative journey, discovering the true essence of honor as the people who love them fight to save them.

Rehearsals for “Honor” will commence on Wednesday, September 6th, and continue throughout the month. They will occur from 2:00 to 6:30 PM at the esteemed A.R.T./NY studios at 520 8th Ave. Please note that rehearsals will not be held on Sundays.

The riveting performances of “Honor” will grace the stage of the Gural Theater at the A.R.T./NY theater, situated at 502 W. 53rd St. The show will run from October 4th to October 29th, with performances scheduled from Wednesday to Saturday at 8 PM, and on Sundays at 3 PM.

The casting call for “Honor” seeks actors with a strong theater background who can bring these multifaceted characters to life. Let’s take a closer look at the intriguing roles available:

Matt Parmini (35-50 years old, Italian): A discharged marine haunted by survivor’s guilt. Matt’s character will also involve recording voices for the additional characters of Ameril Woods and Tony Esperanza, both marine privates.

Sarah Parmini (35-50 years old, Jewish): A psychiatrist and Matt’s supportive wife. Sarah’s character will also require recording the voice of a Muslim girl.

Trotter Daniels (28-38 years old, white): A gay man yearning for purpose and self-discovery.

Evelyn Daniels (45-65 years old, white): Trotter’s mother and a close friend of Sarah’s. Evelyn belongs to a distinguished Protestant background. There is also an understudy opportunity available for this role.

Luke Harrison (African-American/Latino, 18-28 years old): Trotter’s soon-to-be ex-husband, adding another layer of complexity to the narrative. Luke’s character will also involve recording the voice of a marine private.

Officer Jones (40s, male, open ethnicity): This role offers an opportunity to showcase versatility, as the selected actor will also understudy Trotter.

“Honor” Open Casting Call

Casting a full-length dramatic play, “Honor”, written by William R. Duell and directed by Gerald Van Heerden.

Seeking actors who have a strong theater background.

This play presents a gay man and a former marine sergeant suffering from survivor’s guilt. They are brought together to see if they might help one another. Instead, each man tries to goad the other to commit “Suicide.” The people who love these men do what they can to save them, and both men discover what it means to be honorable. 

Rehearsals will begin Wednesday, Sept 6th, and run the entire month of September. They will be held from 2:00-6:30 pm at the A.R.T./NY studios at 520 8th Ave. (no Sundays)

Performances will be at the Gural Theater at the A.R.T./NY theater, 502 w. 53rd st and will run on the following dates and times.

Tech run/dress- Sept 26th-30th, time TBD

Preview performances- Oct 1st at 8 pm and Oct 3rd at 8 pm (oct 2nd is dark- no performance)

Performances- Oct 4th- Oct 29th, wed-sat at 8 pm and Sun at 3 pm.

Equity-approved showcase with substantial pay.

Union and non-union actors are welcome to audition.
