‘LBJ’ Starring Woody Harrelson Open Casting Call

Date:

Woody Harrelson’s new movie ‘LBJ’ is now casting background actors in the Louisiana area.

Woody Harrelson’s new movie ‘LBJ’ is ramping up production in New Orleans, Louisiana. Casting directors are looking for background actors to work on the upcoming political drama while it films in the New Orleans, Louisiana rea.

Written by Joey Hartstone, LBJ focuses around the Southern politician’s rise to become the 36th president of the United States.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, LBJ centers on the political turmoil that Vice President Johnson faced when he was placed into the presidency after the assassination of John F. Kennedy. With political battles on both sides of the aisle, Johnson struggles to heal a nation and secure his legacy by passing the historic Civil Rights Act.

Lydon B. Johnson has become pretty popular in Hollywood movies and TV shows. Johnson, who was known as “LBJ” for short was played by Tom Wilkinson as an unsympathetic president in Ava DuVernay’s ‘Selma’. He also will be played by Bryan Cranston in the HBO TV movie All the Way (Bryan Cranston won a Tony playing the late president on Broadway in a stage version of All the Way).

The director of LBJ had to say this about the upcoming LBJ movie:

“During the ’60s, I was a hippy, and Lyndon Johnson was my president. At the time LBJ was the target of most of my generation’s anti-Vietnam War anger. But as time has passed and my understanding of political realities has grown, I’ve come to see LBJ in a very different light. He was a complex man, a combination of brilliant political instinct, raw strength, ambition and deep insecurities. The strength and power of persuasion that he showed to his colleagues existed alongside a soft, almost childlike quality that perhaps only [first lady Claudia] Lady Bird[Johnson] got to see. His life’s path was nothing short of Shakespearean. From the poor hill country of West Texas to the corridors of power in Washington, he used his brilliant political acumen to pass the most groundbreaking civil rights legislation of the 20th century. And had it not been for the Vietnam War, I believe he would have gone down as one of America’s greatest presidents.”

We will be beginning prep on “LBJ” in the coming weeks. This movie takes place throughout the 1960’s, so we will be looking for men who are clean cut / clean shaven and ladies with natural colored / non-highlighted hair. A great example of the looks we will be needing is The Astronaut Wives Club. Watch the past or current episodes for an idea.

This will be shooting in New Orleans from mid-September until the beginning of November and there will be a whole lot of featured and multi-day bg spots. Majority of these spots will be PICTURE-PICKED by the Director.

We will ONLY be submitting the pictures we take of you for your Central Casting profile. Emailed pictures will not be submitted for picture picked roles. Production prefers this as they know that the pictures are current, there has been no altering and they include your sizes.

Now is the perfect time to come by our office to update your picture and profile or register with Central Casting, if you haven’t done so already. WE DO NOT CHARGE YOU ANYTHING. Be prepared to have your picture taken and bring the proper documents to complete an I9. Once you have completed the I9 in our office, you will not have to do so on the set of the movie.

Over the next 4 weeks, you may come into our office between 10am-5pm on Monday-Friday to register/update. We are located at:

Benson Tower
1450 Poydras Street
Suite #1420 (14th Floor)
