The writers and directors of ‘The Butler’ are now casting series leads for a new drama pilot are currently seeking two series leads.
Looks like FOX plans on exploring the world of hip-hop as the network has recently picked up Empire, a new drama from The Butler’s Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The series centers on the world of a hip-hip empire. The drama will feature original and new music.
This will be Lee Daniel’s first time directing a TV series. While, Strong has had a long history with a background in TV writing with HBO’s Emmy-nominated series Recount and Game Change.
Now casting directors are searching for two series leads of the new drama pilot. They are looking for an actor to portray “Hakeem” an African American male in his 20s, that is beautiful, ripped and charming. The talent must also be a skilled singer and rapper. The second role is for “Jamal” an African American male, that is 25, he is attractive, sensitive and a skilled singer.
