Marvel ‘Doctor Strange’ Movie Open Casting Call

Marvel’s Doctor Strange starring Benedict Cumberbatch is now casting extras in New York City.

Grant Wilfley Casting is looking for men and women to play NYC pedestrians for the upcoming Marvel movie, Doctor Strange. Filming will take place in New York City on Saturday and/or Sunday. According to On Location Vacations, over the past few weeks, no parking signs for Checkmate have been popping up around New York City, and it’s for the new Marvel movie, Doctor Strange. 

Talents must have full availability, from the tri-state area and 18 years and older. Scenes will be exterior scenes and the wardrobe for the scene will be a winter scene.

Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch. Benedict Cumberbatch became an international star with his critically acclaimed role as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous creation in “Sherlock.” Season 3 of Sherlock has earned Cumberbatch the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie in 2014, after winning the BAFTA/LA Brittania Award for British Artist of the Year in 2013.

Benedict Cumberbatch most recently starred in The Imitation Game, playing a famed mathematician and logician Alan Turing, and will also be featured in the upcoming feature film, The Hobbit: The Army of the Five Armies, as Smaug and the Necromancer.

With “Doctor Strange,” Cumberbatch is just the latest actor to join the next Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, introducing several new heroes and adventures across several multiple films.


About Doctor Strange:

After his career is destroyed, a brilliant but arrogant and conceited surgeon gets a new lease on life when a sorcerer takes him under his wing and trains him to defend the world against evil.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Tilda Swinton  star alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg and Mads Mikkelsen in Dr. Strange.
