How to Get Cast in ‘Praise This’ Starring Chloe Bailey

When can we “Praise This?”

Universal Studios’ new movie, “Praise This,” has been in the works for some time now. Media outlets first announced last June 2019 that Universal had given the green light to an upcoming musical comedy about youth choirs called ‘Praises.’

But like many productions slowed down by the pandemic, the release date has been moved to the dreaded “TBA” status.

The success of choir-themed shows and movies has shown that there is indeed demand for this novel genre- think Glee, Pitch Perfect (and all its sequels), and even Pharell Williams’ Voices of Fire on Netflix.

If you want to get a headstart on this movie, here is everything you need to know.

What’s the plot?
Currently, very few details are available for “Praise This.” Universal Studios hasn’t shared any set photos or a teaser trailer to give us an idea of what the movie would be like. However, we know it will have a comedic take on youth choirs. Initial reports indicate that the plot will center around a young woman who visits her cousin in Atlanta and ends up in a choir.

When can we watch it?
It has been a long wait for “Praise This,” but there is still hope that the movie will be released soon. The original release date was changed from September 2020 to October 2021 before finally settling on an unspecified “fall season,” which could mean either this year or 2023.

Who’s in the cast?
Except for Director Tina Gordon, no other actors involved in the project were leaked, save for leading stars Chloe Bailey and Philip Fornah. Casting announcements are usually announced well ahead of its premiere, but as this one doesn’t have an official release date, it’s too early to tell who will be joining the two main characters.

Who’s the casting director?
The casting is being handled by the award-winning casting director, Kim Coleman, best known for her work in the Oscar-winning film BlacKkKlansman, Dear White People, and Dope.
