Ice Cube and Kevin Hart have both signed on to star in the upcoming film Ride Along. Filming is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks in Atlanta Georgia. Universal Studios grabbed the script out of New Line after New Line had a problem trying to find a star to pair with Ice Cube. But after meeting with Kevin Hart and his recent success in “Think Like a Man” Universal Studios quickly purchased the rights to the script and is currently ramping up production for the upcoming feature film.
In Ride Along Kevin Hart will play a mild-mannered elementary school teacher is set to be married. But, his fiancee’s rogue cop brother (Cube) does not approve of the relationship and takes Hart on an adventurous and dangerous ride along in his patrol car in order to scare him away.
Ride Along previously went through several writers including Jason Mantzoukas who wrote “The Dictator” and will now get rewritten by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay from “Clash of the Titans” and RIPD”
