Here’s the Entire List of Golden Globe Nominations 2023

Date:

It’s finally here – the nominations for the 2023 Golden Globes!

This January, NBC will air the 80th Golden Globe Awards – an event they’ve hosted since 1966. However, a boycott from The Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed in a February Los Angeles Times article that exposed their lack of Black members and participation in unethical practices resulted in them canceling last year’s show.

In the wake of criticism, the HFPA has taken essential steps to ensure fairness among its members. An array of restrictions have been put in place, such as a ban on receiving gifts and setting up an anonymous tipping line for reporting inappropriate conduct. Additionally, they added many new international voters (103) and additional general members (21) to diversify membership demographics, resulting in 52% female representation and 51.5% racial diversity within their voting pool.

“This is really not the old HFPA anymore,” HFPA president Helen Hoehne told The Hollywood Reporter. “Over the past 18 months — almost two years now — we took a deep look inward and listened to the criticism. … And we built a new infrastructure that transformed our organization and the awards show into something that is more diverse, transparent, and responsive.”

As this year’s awards show unfolds, The Banshees of Inisherin emerges with eight commendable nods, including the coveted best picture for musical or comedy and Martin McDonagh’s directing and screenplay. Set during Ireland’s civil war era, the darkly comic story stands out amongst its peers. Hot on its heels with six nominations is Everything Everywhere All at Once. At the same time, The Fablemans by Steven Spielberg and Babylon, directed by Damien Chazelle, pulled in an impressive five nod. Alongside them sits Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, which also earned five commendations.

Out of all the series nominated, five have earned a noteworthy four nominations each: The White Lotus, Dahmer, The Crown, Pam & Tommy, and Only Murders in the Building. As for best TV series (drama), these contenders will battle it out for victory: Better Call Saul, Ozark, House of the Dragon, and Severance – plus one more nominee that has already made its mark, none other than The Crown!

Competing for the coveted award of Best TV Series (Comedy) is Only Murders in the Building, alongside other nominees such as Abbott Elementary, Hacks, The Bear, and Wednesday.

Get ready to rejoice with the glitz and glamour of the 2023 Golden Globes hosted by Jerrod Carmichael! Tune in Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock for a night filled with star-studded fun as we honor this year’s nominees – check out the list below!
