‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Writer is “Stunned” by Unfavorable Criticisms

Date:

Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer is “Stunned” by unfavorable criticisms.

Jeff Loveness was incredibly responsible for composing Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which will initiate Phase Five of the MCU. Jonathan Majors brought a fresh and intimidating antagonist, Kang the Conqueror, to the silver screen but, unfortunately, was met with mixed reviews; it is regarded as one of the lowest-rated Marvel films in recent times. Rotten Tomatoes score of 48% and one of MCU’s most significant box office drops indicate that this film may not be living up to its potential.

When The Daily Beast interviewed Loveness, she expressed shock over the intense criticism: “The reviews caught me completely off guard.” He added how taken aback he was and how it affected him, “I was in a pretty low spot…Those were not good reviews, and I was like, ‘What the…?’” Despite the poor reviews, Loveness stands by his work, “I’m proud of what I wrote for Jonathan [Majors] and Michelle Pfeiffer [scientist Janet Pym]. I thought that was good stuff, you know? And so I was just discouraged and sad about it.”

When Loveness attended a public screening of his movie, he was glad to hear the audience laugh along to jokes that he had added to the script. He exclaimed, “Gosh darn it! The reviews were wrong – MODOK is amazing!” His spirits began soaring when people started reacting positively towards his work. He added, “I’m pretty happy with it overall, and I think I learned how to take a punch this week. And now that I learned that it’s not too bad, I can get on with making things.” Loveness refuses to be deterred by the negative reviews and is determined to move forward with his partnership with Marvel to create a script for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
