After just six weeks of its release, James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water has made a monumental splash at the global box office by earning more than $2 billion, as reported by Variety. Earning this remarkable sum solidifies Avatar 2’s place among the highest-grossing films ever released, with Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Titanic joining it on that list – not to mention its predecessor.
Cameron has been credited with three of the six films mentioned above, including The Way of Water, Avatar, and Titanic. On top of that, Zoe Saldaña, who portrays Neytiri in Avatar, can be seen in four of these same six movies: Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.
Thirteen years since its premiere, Avatar continues to reign supreme at the box office as the highest-grossing movie. With a staggering global gross of $2.9 billion, it has left its mark in revenue and public reception. In second place is Avengers: Endgame, with an impressive sum of $2.79 billion, followed by James Cameron’s 1997 classic hit film, Titanic, which came in third place, earning an incredible total amounting to $2.19 billion worldwide!
