Dave Chappelle reveals his bucket list and where he wants to go with his film career.
Dave Chappelle started his career in 1993 as Ahchoo in Mel Brooks’ Robin Hood: Men in Tights, he landed minor roles in box office hits including The Nutty Professor, Con Air, and Blue Streak. He co-wrote himself into his first lead role in Half Baked(1998), which was directed by Tamra Davis.
Dave Chappelle lives with his family in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and continues to perform stand-up, recently touring the U.S. as part of the 2013 Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival.
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Dave Chappelle revealed where he wanted to take his career after Chappelle’s Show. He explained that he was interested in working as a background extra. But the funniest part was a guest star role on Scandal.
What’s another thing on that bucket list?
For one year, I want to do this thing where I guest-star on as many television shows as I possibly can. I love television. The fact that television ultimately made me famous was very gratifying for me. Chris Tucker did it in movies, and Chris Rock did it from his stand-up, which was very impressive. But you know, the thing that people most will remember me for is Chappelle’s Show. If I were to never do anything else, that show would be a culmination of what was a very long and tedious process of me learning how to be in the television business.
So if you could choose, what shows would you guest-star on?
I’d be a zombie in The Walking Dead. A corpse on CSI. I’d be the first black guy to f*ck Olivia Pope on Scandal…(Via)
