In a recent development, both Disney+ and Hulu have announced their plans to implement a price adjustment for their subscription packages, effective in two months.
According to a report by IGN, commencing from October 12, customers within the United States will witness a modification in subscription charges. The Disney+ ad-free tier, previously priced at USD 10.99 per month, will be adjusted to $13.99 monthly. Simultaneously, Hulu’s subscription fee for its ad-free level will see an increase from $14.99 to $17.99 per month. Furthermore, ESPN+ is set to experience a modest increment of one dollar, pricing it at $10.99 monthly. The Hulu with Live TV package will also undergo a revision, with the new price set at $76.99 per month, as opposed to the previous rate of $69.99. On a positive note, the Disney+ and Hulu bundle will witness a price reduction, now available at $19.99 monthly for the ad-supported tier.
To cater to a broader audience, Disney+ plans to expand the availability of its ad-supported tier to additional regions shortly after the forthcoming price adjustments. The new offering will be launched in Canada, the UK, and eight European countries, with a scheduled launch date of November 1.
Shifting gears to entertainment, it has been revealed that the production cost for the second season of Loki, a popular series, amounted to an impressive $140 million for Disney.
As Disney+ and Hulu make these strategic changes to their subscription plans, customers can anticipate enhanced content offerings and an optimized viewing experience, despite the slight adjustments in pricing.
