Hugh Jackman is taking no chances with his reprising role of Wolverine in the soon-to-be-released Deadpool 3 and has dedicated himself to preparing for it.

Recently, during an enlightening conversation with HBO Max’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? The show, Hugh Jackman opened up about his upcoming return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Australian actor discussed how he is preparing for the physical demands of reprising his iconic role as Wolverine and gave insight into what fans can expect from him in this anticipated movie. He said, “I’ve learned you can’t rush it. I’ve learned that it takes time. So we have six months from when I finish [The Music Man] to when I started filming. And I’m not doing any other work. I’m going to be with my family and train. That’s going to be my job for six months.” He continued to add, “And I’m really fit right now. There’s one thing that about eight shows a week being on Broadway singing and dancing is I’m fit. So I’m healthy. I have a good place to start.” He also joked, “And apologies, chickens. Run a mile. Start running now because I’m coming for you.”

Hugh Jackman is expected to star alongside Ryan Reynolds in the highly-anticipated third installment of Marvel’s iconic superhero franchise. Jackman will be taking up his familiar role as James “Logan” Howlett, better known by fans as Wolverine. After initially playing the character of Wolverine in Bryan Singer’s X-Men project over two decades ago, Jackman is set to return for his 10th appearance as the iconic superhero in Deadpool 3. In September 2022, Ryan Reynolds confirmed Jackman’s comeback with an exciting video announcement to all his fans.

Under the guidance of Shawn Levy, Deadpool 3 is slated to be released in theaters on November 8th, 2024.
