Lionsgate Unwilling to Part with Keanu Reeves in the ‘John Wick‘ Series, Not Ready To Say Goodbye
Lionsgate is passionate about maintaining Keanu Reeves’ presence in the John Wick franchise, regardless of how much he participates.
Following the premiere of John Wick: Chapter 4, Group Chair Joe Drake spoke to Deadline and alluded that this may be a definitive end for Reeves’ famous character. “We’re not ready to say goodbye to Keanu with this franchise. It’s what alternative there will be,” He declared emphatically. Keanu Reeves, who stars in The Ballerina spinoff of the John Wick franchise alongside Ana de Armas, has confirmed his involvement. However, Lionsgate executives are hopeful for more stories from the original storyline to portray a revived interest in John Wick’s captivating narrative.
“There’s a lot of different things that we can do,” Drake added. “I’ve seen this movie five times in the last week. I can see the way that the audience moves him.”
Chapter 4 created a franchise history, earning an impressive USD 73.5 million at the domestic box office and another staggering $137.5 million worldwide! This gave Reeves the second-best global career opening after the success of The Matrix Revolution.
For all, you entertainment fans, mark your calendars for April 2023! That’s when new and exciting content arrives on Netflix. Remember to make room in your queues, as some of our favorites will depart that month.
