The author of ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, John Green is now hiring crew for his new movie ‘Looking for Alaska’ in Michigan.
The Michigan Film Office has just announced a new movie. ‘Looking For Alaska,’ based on a best-selling novel from John Green, is now in production in Michigan.
The New York Times best-selling book is being adapted into a movie by Scott Neutadter and Michael H. Weber, who also turned Green’s novel, “The Fault In Our Stars,” into a movie.
Last month, Gov. Rick Snyder signed a bill that eliminated film incentives in the state of Michigan. However, the film office will remain open to attract production companies in order to build the state’s film industry.
‘Looking for Alaska’ is John Green’s first young adult novel, published in march 2005. It won several awards and after several years it was listed at number ten in Children’s Paperback, 385 weeks after it was released. According to IMDB, ‘Looking for Alaska’ centers around a “new arrival at a boarding school falls in love with a beguiling female student.”
Filming locations have not been announced but, producers are now hiring crew to work on the movie. Producers plan to hire nearly 200 crew and 1,700 extras to work on the upcoming feature film. If anyone is interested in working on the film crew, please send your resume to lfafeature@gmail.com.
