Michael B. Jordan Hints at Expanding ‘Creed‘ Universe with Future Projects
As Creed III is on the brink of being released, actor and director Michael B. Jordan already have his sights set beyond just this third movie in the series.
During his recent chat with Screen Rant, Jordan passionately spoke of the potential for expanding the Creed universe. The Creed franchise, a continuation of the Rocky Balboa series, has been going strong for a while. According to Jordan, this verse should “continue to expand and grow” in scope and impact. He explains, “We invested in some fascinating characters that many people responded to. I have to give a political answer to that. [laughs] There’s going to be more of the Creed family, and there’s going to be more of some of the characters that you love from this movie. I don’t know what package it will be in yet.”
The Creed movies have reinvigorated the beloved franchise, with Sylvester Stallone reprising his iconic role as Rocky Balboa. If Adonis Creed can retire from fighting, the latest franchise installment has left an opening for furthering stories through new characters. Florian Munteanu is returning to his iconic role as Viktor Drago in the upcoming Creed III film. At the same time, Adonis must confront a new rival – Jonathan Majors’ captivating character, Dame. A fellow boxing prodigy who grew up with Adonis before his imprisonment, Dame’s entrance is sure to complicate matters for our hero.
