Horse killed by a “flying Iceberg” on Fast and Furious 8 set.
According to Yahoo! Movies, while filming on the frozen surface of Lake Myvatn a horse named Jupiter has been tragically killed on the set of Fast & Furious 8 after a prop iceberg being used on the movie was blown into a field by severe winds.
The giant plastic iceberg is said to have struck the horse so hard that a vet had to put the poor horse down while it was grazing. The horse was not involved in the shooting of the movie.
Another horse was also injured on set of Fast 8 but it is expected to make a full recovery.
Production staff for Fast 8 told the horse owner that insurance will cover the cost of the horse and a broken fence.
Several stunt vehicles have been spotted in the area of Lake Myvatn for scenes in F. Gary Gray’s follow up to the 2015 hugely successful Fast & Furious 7 and a recent report on Collider says the production is planning “the largest explosion ever in Iceland”.
All of the cast is set to return for Fast 8 except, Paul Walker who unfortunately died in 2013. Charlize Theron is rumored to be playing the villain the movie that’s expected to hit theaters in April, 2017.
Rest in Peace Jupiter.
