A standalone Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars movie is reportedly in the works, and Disney is supposedly in talks with a director for the project.
Sources close to the Hollywood Reporter report that an Obi-Wan film currently has no script or cast attached to the production, but Billy Elliot director Stephen Daldry is reportedly in early talks to direct the film. If he signed on, he would oversee the development and scripting of the film.
Since Disney bought the rights to the Star Wars franchise for billions of dollars, the entertainment company has launched several box office hit movies including Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One. In fact, Star Wars: The Force Awakens made $2 billion worldwide.
